Acupuncture is an Eastern facet of therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine that can be used to treat a range of acute and chronic conditions. (Please note we do not practice TCM Acupuncture, for this you would need to see a registered Acupuncturist).
As physiotherapists, we are experienced in musculoskeletal medical acupuncture using dry needling.
This may involve the treatment of affected muscles and/or fascia in order to improve pain levels, joint range of motion, swelling and muscle relaxation.
Acupuncture is best used in combination with other physiotherapy techniques.
Conditions we Treat with Dry Needling Include:
- Back and neck pain from joint or muscular origin
- Whiplash
- Muscle or ligament strains and sprains
- Joint pain such as arthritis
- Headaches or migraine
- Numbness, nerve pain (e.g. sciatica)
- Recovery from surgery
