Our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists use modified pilates techniques and frameworks to build a therapeutic exercise program specific to you needs. Blending scientific evidence based exercises with mat and equipment based exercises, the supervised (small groups up to three) programs are effective, always progressive, functional and fun.

Who Would Benefit from Pilates?

Pilates is suitable for all ages and abilities. Your individualised program is based on your specific needs and goals, and is progressed as your skill and strength develops.

Clinical Pilates

  • Improves core strength
  • Improves pelvic floor function
  • Builds a good foundation for your body to perform during other activities
  • Improves posture
  • Improves flexibility
  • Improves stability
  • Decreases back pain
  • Decreases neck and shoulder pain

Whether using exercise for rehabilitation or strength and conditioning the evidence supports correcting problems associated with how we use the muscles in a co-ordinated and functional way.

This involves retraining how the brain uses the muscles in the motor or movement patterns. We use imagery, Ultrasound feedback, EMG and video feedback to assist in this learning process.

Exercise done incorrectly can be harmful and cause pain.
